A 2016 study in Oncotarget found that bitter melon extract could inhibit tumor growth in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma, and a 2015 study in Integrative Cancer Therapies showed that its natural activation of AMPK inhibited the growth of ovarian cancer cells.
