The holiday season is upon us and with it comes the stress of busy holiday shopping, travel, parties, and the looming fear that you won’t get it all done. 1. Stick to your schedule.
Part of the reason that we always get stressed out during the holiday season is because we’re off of our normal routine. This year stick with your normal daily schedule and add one item each day that you need to accomplish to prepare for the holiday season. Whether it’s wrapping presents, sending Christmas cards, or baking your kid’s favorite sugar cookies, get the tasks done gradually and you won’t feel rushed later on.
2. Learn to say no.
Whether it’s visiting both sets of parents on Christmas day or hitting every holiday party on your list, just because you’re invited doesn’t mean you have to attend. Time is the only thing you can’t get more of during the holiday season so it should be treated like a precious resource. Learn to say no, you’ll be thankful later.
3. Give back.
Often times we get stressed out when we’re focused entirely on ourselves and living in our own little world.
