I am from the UK and was surprised when moving to the states three years ago that tartrazine was still in use. My oldest child has sensitivity to blue and red artifical colourants. It makes him hyper and I made the mistake of giving him fruit loops when we first arrived. He literally went loopy. He is also banned from eating skittles. We now live in Mexico and artifical colourants are also prevalent here. It is really hard on the kids to know that food advertised for them is not good for them and can cause reactions with them.
