  • Apples
  • Avocados
  • Bananas
  • Bell peppers
  • Broccoli
  • Carrots
  • Grapes

  1. Thanks for the recipes ~ the pear and chocolate spread sounds delicious! Any tips for people like me who live in the middle of the country and don’t have a lot of local growers this time of year?

  2. Hi, Jackie:

One the best resources is Local Harvest — http://www.localharvest.org/ — which provides geographical links to farmer’s markets, farms, community-supported agriculture, groceries and co-ops. Also check your area’s Yellow Pages for natural/organic food stores.

    Hope this helps!
