Biodegradable Doggie Bags

I have three little dogs that love to go on nature walks, so I stuff my pocket with Biodegradable Doggie Bags and away we go. We have this favorite path along a creek that we follow and the dogs have a fantastic time doing their thing. When they do their business I make sure it is cleaned up. Well your probably saying that is all well and good, but my problem is with the other natural thinkers. The ones that think that dog doo is something natural and the environment will take care of it. The ones that think nobody cleans up after deer or rabbits why should I cleanup after my dog.
Our community is very Eco conscious, it follows the "Green Dog Park Stewardship Program". For the non-known, we have free biodegradable doggie bags supplied along our nature paths. Doggie bags from www.ecosafeplastics.com . So needless to say when your walking down these open paths and you come across a mound of dog doo, it is a bit frustrating to the eco conscious and very maddening when you get it in the treads of your good runners. It is not like we don't have fines in place for this type of littering, but it is the risk taken , the challenge of not getting caught. The laziness in having to bend and scoop. These are the same people that think they don't have to license their pets because they are never outside alone. I have yet to see a pet that can cleanup after itself and if there is one it is very rare, so it is our responsibility, being the one with the larger brain to take on this task. One point of caution, if you use these biodegradable doggie bags..... DON"T leave them in your pockets and wash your clothes. They do breakdown very quickly and make another real mess!!
For the best advice on living a green life and sharing that life with your animal family check out Pure Greenius. Not only are there columns and articles to help you leave as small an ecological footprint as possible, there is actually a column dedicated specifically to lowering your pet's pawprint. The column is called Pawsitive Ecology. Check it out (along with all the other articles) at http://www.puregreenius.ca/

I'd like to add:
1. Purrfectplay (www.purrfectplay.com) for amazingly safe, handmade, organic pet toys, and
2. Onesta Organics (www.onestaorganics.com) for certified organic pet foods. Only certified organic pet food claims are regulated and enforced by the US government, other (non-certified) organic claims aren't and are therefore not verified by an unbiased 3rd party. Onesta Organics is the first both certified and Green America-approved pet food manufacturer in the US :-) !!
