Cow manure may have been perfectly natural in the past, however most cow manure now is the product of factory farming and CAFOs. As such, it is the dumping ground for the various pesticides, hormones and antibiotics fed to the animals. Although the food obtained from the animals may have to be tested for these pollutants, the manure does not, so there is no telling what may be in it. Anyone eager to keep these substances out of his food would be well-advised to use “green manure” from organic crops. It wasn’t that long ago that those who preferred organic foods were considered kooky. Veganic food production, while currently somewhat impractical on a large scale, eliminates the noxious chemicals that may be found in animal manure.

At the moment we’re try to get the government in Taiwan to organise an official meat free Monday nationwide.
