Well, the Frogs would be speaking German if not for superior American thinking. This is not a BAN on plastic bags, it’s a NEW TAX on paper bags. Why to environmentalists get all excited about raising taxes to pay for government pensioners? How does a new tax help the environment exactly??? Americans say no to reusable BACTERIA BAGS.

Clarification: It was not the City of Los Angeles – it was the COUNTY of Los Angeles, and the ban applies only in the “unincorporated” areas of the county. The ban will not be applicable within the City of Los Angeles.

It has already been done YEARS ago in my country: France, and it works: charge people for using plastic bags and they will remember to bring their own… so I am glad to see that the States are finally catching up with Europe!
