New website database provides info on food safety

Food borne illness outbreaks have become one of the most common threats to our health in the U.S. in recent years. From small batches of tainted vegetables or the incomprehensibly large scale of the more than half a billion eggs recalled last year for salmonella, to the lethal melamine tainted pet food in 2007, fears are at an all time high.

The Food Safety Bill Passed, But Fears Have Not

Mixed emotions are meeting the Food Safety Bill, which passed through Senate on December 27th, 2010. While some are calling it ‘fake’ and a threat to small family farms, trusted voices for healthy and safe food, Michael Pollan, author of Omnivore’s Dilemma and Food Rules: An Eater’s Manual and Eric Schlosser, author of Fast Food Nation support the bill.
