The battle to get genetically modified foods labeled is not going away, even despite Proposition 37′s failure in California earlier this month. Focus is now routing back to federal regulations with the Just Label It campaign urging the FDA to take action. The latest support for the campaign comes via an all-star cast of celebs and musicians making the case in a recent Just Label It video.

One of the most hotly debated discussions about our nation’s food supply—the issue of genetically modified organisms—has led to a record-breaking number of comments submitted to the FDA, according to the petition campaign titled “Just Label It” that spearheaded the signature gathering and comments. But, by the FDA’s math, those 1 million individuals only actually count as 394 separate comments.

Generating more public comments and signatures than any other food petition in the FDA’s history, the Just Label It campaign (Docket # FDA-2011-P-0723-0001/CP) is nearing its deadline of March 27th with more than 850, 000 comments and counting.
