Los Angeles City Council members unanimously voted yesterday to approve a resolution that officially supports Proposition 37—the November ballot initiative that would require the labeling of foods containing genetically modified ingredients sold within the state.

A recent L.A. Times poll suggests California's Proposition 37, which would make it the first state to require mandatory labeling on foods containing genetically modified ingredients, is likely to pass by more than a 2-to-1 margin this coming November.
