Efforts to bring awareness to the reasons why genetically modified foods should be labeled are underway in a number of different campaigns across the U.S. with targets all set to a potential California ballot initiative in 2012 that could enforce statewide mandatory labeling on all foods containing GMOs.

Efforts to make California the first state to require mandatory labeling of all genetically modified foods are underway with growing support from organizations including the Organic Consumers Association and the Right2Know March.

In an effort to raise awareness about the lack of labeling of the controversial and widespread use of genetically modified foods, a coalition of advocacy groups, organizations, businesses and concerned citizens will march 313 miles from New York to Washington, D.C. in October.
