According to analysis conducted by the Environmental Working Group on U.S. water quality tests conducted in 2011, toxic chemicals called trihalomethanes were found to be contaminating virtually all of the tap water samples tested.

Pittsburgh's drinking water is contaminated with radioactive radium/></p> <p>High levels of radium—a highly radioactive substance—have leaked into the drinking water supplies in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, as well as dozens of other cities in the area.
