Scotts Miracle-Gro to Pay Biggest Fine Ever for Misuse of Pesticides

Scotts Miracle Gro, the world’s largest producer of residential pesticides, must pay the largest fine of its kind in U.S. history totaling $12.5million for violation of Federal pesticide laws including the Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act. The company was also charged with adding illegal toxins to wild bird food.

Genetically Modified Kentucky Bluegrass Sets New Precedent for Biotech Industry

Just before the July 4th holiday, the USDA announced that it is not the duty of the regulatory agency to determine whether or not genetically modified glyphosate resistant Kentucky bluegrass is safe to approve for planting.
