Green smoothie

Getting up and going is not easy. And when you have to fit in your morning workout, commute and eat breakfast before 7:30 a.m., it’s near impossible. Take some stress out of your morning routine and quickly make a green smoothie for breakfast. The following three green smoothie recipes are perfect for breakfast and are full of healthy ingredients.

1. Broccoli Smoothie

Makes two large smoothies

Ingredients*

1/2 head organic broccoli
1 cup fresh flat leaf parsley
1 avocado
2 ripe bananas
Juice from 1 whole lemon
2 pinches sea salt
12 oz almond milk
2 cups ice cubes

*Use organic and local ingredients when possible.

Method

Put all ingredients into a blender. Blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

2. Green Machine Smoothie

Serves 2

Ingredients

6 romaine leaves, chopped
4 kale leaves, chopped
1/2 cup fresh parsley sprigs
1/2 cup chopped pineapple
1/2 cup chopped mango
1 inch fresh ginger, peeled and chopped

Method

Combine romaine, kale, parsley, pineapple, mango, ginger, and 1 1/2 cups water in a blender and blend until smooth.

3. Glowing Skin Green Smoothie

Ingredients

1 cup frozen or fresh mango
1 handful of cilantro
1 tsp spirulina
1 lime, peeled
1 cup of water or coconut water

Method

Blend ingredients together in a high-powered blender and serve.
