No, I’m not talking about your significant other. I’m talking about your significant peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Don’t despair; there is hope. Bring the spark back to that old childhood standby with a few gourmet twists. Here are 5 revamped recipes to make you fall in love all over again with the peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Smooth Sailing Peanut Butter ‘n’ Pineapple Sandwich

½ cup chunky peanut butter (substitute your fave nut butter like easy homemade almond butter for any recipe!)
¼ cup cream cheese, softened
hot sauce, to taste
½ cup sliced or crushed pineapple (try grilled fresh slices!)
¼ cup shredded carrot
8 slices thick country white bread or Hawaiian bread

Stir together peanut butter and cream cheese until smooth. Add hot sauce to taste. Layer mixture with pineapple and carrot over bread to make 4 sandwiches; cut in half and serve.

“Not, I’m Not Pregnant” Peanut Butter and Dill Sandwich

½ cup peanut butter
1 cup sliced pickles (dill or sweet)
8 slices bread of choice

Arrange into 4 sandwiches; cut in half and serve.

Spicy Thai Peanut Butter and Baked Tofu Sandwich

½ cup peanut butter
4 tablespoons honey
Red pepper flakes, to taste
1 pound baked tofu, cut into 4 thick slices
1 cup sprouts
8 slices whole grain bread

Stir peanut butter, honey, and pepper together until smooth. Smear onto 4 slices bread; top each with 1 piece tofu and ¼ cup sprouts. Place top bread slices on; cut in half and serve.

Southern Comfort Peanut Butter Mayo Sammich

½ cup peanut butter
¼ cup mayonnaise
4 bananas, sliced
8 slices of white country bread

Stir peanut butter and mayonnaise together; spread over 4 slices bread. Top with banana slices and remaining slice bread; cut in half and serve.

Crispy, Crunchy Peanut Butter ‘n’ Bacon Sandwich

½ cup peanut butter
8 slices bacon, cooked crisp
2 apples, sliced
8 slices bread of choice

Layer peanut butter, bacon, and apples on 4 slices bread; top with remaining slices. Cut in half and serve.
