strawberries and thyme

The best drinks are those that capture the essence of the season, and the Artemis Flower does just that. It starts with fresh strawberries and thyme, which many of us are picking in our own gardens during late spring and early summer. Adding sambuca, bourbon and lime for depth and brightness, this cocktail becomes elegant and complex without losing its summery freshness.

Ingredients

1 fresh strawberry, halved
2 sprigs of fresh thyme
2 ounces of bourbon
3/4 ounce of demerara syrup
1/2 ounce of fresh lime juice
1/2 ounce of sambuca
Club soda

Method

Muddle the strawberry and thyme in the bottom of a shaker.

Add remaining ingredients except club soda, and shake with ice.

Pour into an ice-filled Collins glass, top with the soda and garnish with a thyme-wrapped strawberry.
