How to Make Brown Sugar with Only 2 Ingredients
Have you ever stopped mid-recipe only to realize you’re missing one crucial ingredient? This happens all the time with me and brown sugar. I rarely use it on a daily basis, but sometimes a baked recipe calls for it and I’m at a loss. Luckily, I figured out how to make brown sugar: all it takes are two common ingredients and you’ve got yourself a delicious, albeit makeshift, brown sugar concoction. Sweet success!
So, don’t go jumping in the car and whizzing your way to the nearest grocery store to pick up brown sugar, because you may have it at your fingertips after all. Achieve the same effect with white sugar and molasses.

Stir the molasses into the white sugar and mix until combined evenly and completely. You could alternatively mix them together in a food processor. Store in a sealed-tight container for optimum freshness and add a few drops of water to make the brown sugar moister. Enjoy in your favorite baked dessert recipes or atop your morning oatmeal.
