When looking for something to warm you up on a cold winter night, perhaps dips and spreads aren't the first dishes that come to mind. Well, perhaps it's time to amend that soup and stew stockpile of cozy fare with these delectable cooked dips and spreads - especially as folks step from the frigid cold into your welcoming cocktail party or for a cozy evening in with a loved one. You can serve them with your favorite chips, crackers, or vegetables.
8 ounces of cream cheese
½ lb crab meat
¼ cup minced onion
¼ cup sour cream
2 tablespoons cocktail sauce
dried dill (to taste)
Mix the ingredients well. If you’d like, add some sliced almonds on top. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes or until bubbly.
1 (8 ounce) round Brie cheese
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup chopped pecans
1 tablespoon rye whiskey or brandy
Cut slits into the top and sides of the Brie. Place it on a baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees F for 5 minutes or until softened. Stir together the brown sugar, pecans, and whiskey. Pour the mixture over the top of the cheese. Then return it to the oven for 10 more minutes.

1 (6.5 ounce) jar marinated artichoke hearts, chopped
4 ounces of cream cheese
1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1 clove garlic, chopped
½ tablespoon lemon juice
Mix the ingredients well. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15 minutes or until light brown on top.
Cider Cheese Fondue
3/4 cup apple cider
2 cups Cheddar cheese, shredded
1 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
1 tablespoon cornstarch
1/8 teaspoon pepper
Mix the cheeses with cornstarch and pepper. Set aside. Bring the cider to a boil in a large sauce pan. Reduce heat to medium low, and add the cheese mixture, stirring constantly. Once the cheese has melted (usually 3 to 4 minutes,) transfer to your fondue pot or slow cooker to keep it warm.
