7 Western Glamping Decor Ideas: Bringing the Big Sky Indoors

Create glamping deocr in your home.

I have a guilty pleasure. I love to look at magazines and sites like Sunset, Midwest Living, Country Living, Glamping.com, especially any of the features about glamping or creating the feel of outdoor living indoors. And since I am an east coaster, I often fantasize about the west and the midwest. The big skies of Montana, the wide open spaces of the Dakotas and the vast grasslands of the Great Plains are the stuff of my dreams. It is my goal to one day take super-luxe glamping vacation and stay in some at some fabulous lodge, rustic cabin or super-charming revamped retro RV park. Until that day, I will have to settle for incorporating that glamping decor into my home.

Setting yourself up for some big sky glamping decor is all about creating that wide-open, rustic feel. Exposed wood, natural fabrics, mason jar candles, draped mosquito netting and lantern chandeliers are all some of the first ideas that come to my head.

7 Ideas & Must Haves for Glamping Decor

  1. Chandelier – No glamping look is really complete without a chandelier to elevate the room. This handmade iron chandelier can be used with everything from LED lights to candles to add mood lighting.
  2. DIY Log Table – Literally bring the outdoors inside with this do-it-yourself log side table.
  3. Woven Wool Pouf – Whether inside or outside, creating a glamping decor is all about making a comfortable space. There’s not much else as comfortable as putting your feet up on a pouf in front of a fire pit or fireplace.
  4. Patterned Pillows – Pillows in patterns reminiscent of Native American motifs can help set the scene and add some comfort.
  5. DIY Pallet Wine Rack – Add some rustic charm by making your own wine rack using a pallet. And wine can help create that laid back glamping chill.
  6. Reclaimed Wood Coffee Table – Bring the woods into your home with this solid piece of furniture.
  7. Faux Fur Throws – To create that glamping look, you pretty much need to have faux fur throws thrown over the backs of every piece of furniture in your living room.
