People love fancy toast. I’m not sure if it’s because of all the delectable artisan breads now available, or because dips and spreads are so fun to eat. But really, who cares. This… meal? Snack? Is incredibly enjoyable to eat no matter what. So, we’ve rounded up 3 fancy toast recipes you can make any time of day.

1. Brown Sugar and Butter “Good Morning!” Toast
My godmother used to make me this toast in the morning whenever my family would visit in the summer. It was the perfect light breakfast to eat before a fun day exploring the North Carolina Smoky Mountains. Obviously, it's not really a fancy toast recipe, but it sure felt fancy when I ate it as an 8-year-old girl.
A few, healthy sprinkles-worth of organic brown sugar
A light spread of organic butter
2 slices of whole wheat bread
Toast the bread until golden brown. Immediately after the toast leaves the toaster, spread the butter and add the brown sugar. Serve immediately and enjoy with a cup of coffee.

2. Fresh and Light “Mid-Day” Toast
I’m a busy writer. That basically means that just like everyone else, I have a hell of a time finding a moment to eat a good, healthy lunch. So, during the summer, I take full advantage of all the fresh food available and make quick and easy meals. For example: this toast. It provides a satisfying crunch and has an amazing flavor.
2 large heirloom tomatoes, preferably organic, bought from a local farmers market, or harvested from your backyard
5 pieces of organic basil
2 slices of crunchy, multi-grain bread, or sourdough
Salt and pepper to taste
While you’re toasting the bread, start slicing the tomatoes in large, thick slices. Sprinkle pepper and salt on the tomato slices. Next, tear of the basil leafs with your fingers—go ahead and compost the stems. Once the bread is toasted, add the tomatoes first and top with the torn basil leaves.

3. Summer Party Toast Snacks
Having a small group of friends over for dinner? Make this amazing appetizer to satisfy everyone’s cravings before the main meal is served.
1 jar of organic kalamata olives
1 jar of organic red peppers
1 jar of organic sun-dried tomatoes
Olive oil to taste
Salt and pepper to taste
1 loaf of rosemary olive oil bread, sliced thick
Cut the loaf of bread into thick slices. Place the bread in the oven at about 350 F for 5-15 minutes, or until the bread is lightly toasted. While the bread is toasting, drain all of the jarred ingredients and add to a food processor. Pulse until blended. Add olive oil and salt and pepper to taste, and to help create the consistency you desire. After the bread is done toasting, arrange it on a platter. Place the spread into a bowl with a spoon and serve.
