Heirloom Tomato Toast Recipe

This simple recipe is perfect for using up the last of summer’s tomato harvest.

Preparation
- Slice baguette in half so it is open faced. Then cut each half into quarters.
- Toast until lightly golden and crispy.
- Cut the stems off the tomatoes. Slice each tomato into thin rounds and set aside.
- Roll each basil leaf from the bottom up until rolled into a cylinder shape. Slice thin incisions vertically into the basil to form basil chiffonade.
- Top each piece of toast with two slices of heirloom tomato and then garnish with basil.
- Drizzle lightly with extra-virgin olive oil then sprinkle with flaked sea salt and ground black pepper to taste.
