Organic mask

9. Organic Chocolate & Honey Nourishing Facial Mask

This face mask tastes as goof as it looks.

Ingredients
1 tablespoon organic cocoa powder
1/2 organic avocado
10-15 organic almonds
1/2 teaspoon honey
1/4 – 1/2 cup water

Method
Combine all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. The mask should have a thick consistency, but add enough water to give it a whip cream-like texture. Scoop the mixture into a small container. Cleanse your face before applying the mask. Dab the mask on your face using your fingers in a smooth layer, avoiding your eyes and mouth. (If a little gets in your mouth, that’s okay. It’s yummy!) Relax, sip some herbal tea and let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes. The mask will begin to harden, like most facial masks, but don’t worry. It’s normal. Gently rinse off the mask after about 15-20 minutes and enjoy your soft, moisturized skin! The leftover facial mask mixture will keep in the refrigerator for several days.

Tomato

10. Tomato mask

For those who battle skin blemishes and clogged pores, you can enjoy the benefits of a tomato-based facial with none of the fuss simply by rubbing a fresh tomato half all over your skin, allowing the juice to remain for 15 minutes before rinsing it off. If, on the other hand, you enjoy puttering about in the kitchen, this creamy, hydrating and pleasantly energizing mask is for you.

Ingredients
1/2 a pureed fresh tomato
2 teaspoons of ground oatmeal
2 teaspoons of plain yogurt
1 teaspoon of grated fresh cucumber

Method
Mix 1/2 of a pureed fresh tomato into 2 teaspoons of ground oatmeal along with 2 teaspoons of plain yogurt and 1 teaspoon of grated fresh cucumber.

Squash

11. Zucchini face mask

Ingredients
1/4 of an avocado
1 tablespoon of honey
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
1/4 of a small zucchini

Method
Puree 1/4 of an avocado along with 1 tablespoon of honey and 1 teaspoon of lemon juice (the latter of which will prevent the avocado from oxidizing while also helping to tone your skin). Then, finely grate 1/4 of a small zucchini into the mask mixture, incorporating it with a spoon. You know what to do now – just slather it on and enjoy!
