When you think of body oil, perhaps a greasy massage comes to mind, or some otherwise well - oily - experience. But in fact, body oils added to a luxurious bath and/or applied to the skin, just after bathing (and towel drying), can be rubbed in flawlessly for a nourishing and moisturizing effect that is anything but greasy. Your skin will look healthy; not like you're priming for the slip 'n slide. And, you'll find you get a much smoother result than from lotions and creams.

And in the winter, our hair and skin have a tendency to become particularly dull - if not dry, cracked and scaly. Body oil is like a thirst quencher for parched, neglected skin.

This is the perfect product to get down and dirty with DIY: Not only is it cheaper, it's cleaner. Why spend loads of money on products with long lists of unbeautiful ingredients you likely can't pronounce? Especially since those chemicals often end up doing the opposite of what you want them to do, drying things up. Get the best ingredients by mixing them yourself. And plus, there's a lot of leeway here to play around with different oil bases and organic essential oils. Consider this recipe as a launch pad into the world of do-it-yourself body oils for a smooth and supple you.

Ingredients

2 fl. oz. jojoba oil

2 fl. oz. almond oil

2 tablespoons of vitamin E oil

10 drops sweet orange oil

6 drops lavender essential oil

4 drops lemongrass essential oil

Instructions

Add all of your ingredients to a recycled glass or plastic bottle, cap it and shake it up. That's it!

Make it sexy, and have your partner give you the rub down next time you get out of the shower. You can also use this as a bath additive or after-shave concoction.
