7-Eleven is launching a new certified organic cold-pressed juice line as part of its 7-Select Go!Smart line, first launched in 2015. The line was created in order to offer healthier options to 7-Eleven customers.

The shelf-stable, cold-pressed juice line is Non-GMO Project verified, certified fair trade, gluten-free, vegan, and free of additives and added sugars.

“When you compare this new line of 7-Select GO!Smart cold-pressed juices head-to-head with nationally recognized premium juice brands, well, there is no comparison,” Tim Cogil, director of new product development for 7-Eleven, told Food Business News. “Typically, this level of quality is only found at juice and smoothie restaurants.”

Four flavors of cold-pressed juice have currently been launched, at a suggested retail price of $2.99 per 14-ounce bottle:

  • Clean & Green, with kale, cucumber, apple, spinach, mint, celery, lime, and parsley
  • Tropical Glow, with pineapple, orange, banana, apple, mango, passion fruit, and coconut water
  • Berry & Bright, with tart cherry, carrot, blackberry, pomegranate, bilberry, cranberry, and açai
  • Restoration Red, with tomato, tart cherry, beet, strawberry, apple, and lime.

These juices join preservative-free popcorns, sprouted tortilla chips, and yogurt bars in the Go!Smart line of healthier products.

“Customers have told us that they find it difficult to find good food while on-the-go that can help them find the best nutritional balance,” Laura Gordon, vice president brand innovation, said in a news release. “Their needs change by day, sometimes by hour, and we are committed to bringing them a range of great tasting options that will leave them fully satisfied while on the go.”

The launch of these new products is in line with other recent announcements from the chain, including its 2016 decision to transition to cage-free egg sourcing by 2025. The decision also confirms a prediction from the National Association of Convenience Stores that healthier options would be on-trend in 2018.
