MenuPages Adds New Local/Organic Category

In a city with more than 20,000 restaurants (we’re talking to you NYC), it’s nearly impossible to hone in on just one. Until now, hungry NYCers were forced with a dilemma: eat at your normal faves, or branch out and try something new. Although the latter sounds more fun (who doesn’t love trying new restaurants?), with the masses of eateries, you’re likely to spend an hour just picking through places.

Sigh … where to start? Naturally, you’ll want a place that serves local and/or organic food but until now, finding a list of them in one spot has been difficult. Now, MenuPages has stepped up to make your eco eating habits much easier with their new “Local/Organic” search category. We just have one thing to say, finally! We’re already hooked and some of our faves include Rev’d Up Pi, Bell Book & Candle, GustOrganics, and more.

For those outside of the five areas MenuPages thrives in (NYC, LA, San Fran, Philly, Boston, Chicago, DC, and South Florida), the site is dedicated to getting as many restaurant menus as humanly possible and putting them online. You can search by food type, area, price, and more and users can also rate the restaurant on a five-star scale and write reviews … kinda like Yelp.com for the food set.

And MenuPages isn’t stopping there. They also launched new categories including Bakeries, Desserts, and Gastropubs. If you’re lucky enough to have a functioning iPhone, you can download MenuPages’ brand new app to get menus on the move.

What do think of the new Local/Organic category?
