19 Easy Delicious Recipes for Your 4th of July Party

Three-day weekends are the best kind of weekends…and this 4th of July is no exception! Looking for some fun recipes to liven up your holiday celebrating? We’ve got a slew of delicious recipes for you to try…great appetizers, burgers, salads and of course, cocktails. This July 4th falls on Meatless Monday, so make sure to include as many yummy fruits and veggies as you can! Lots of great ones are in season right now (and may be growing in your garden!), so remember to shop your local farmers markets to get the best deal on abundant produce that needs to be moved quickly. And when you can, buy organic.

Everyone needs a good drink to get the party started. Beer is yummy, of course, but why not try our Rose Geranium Sangria, or one of our summer herby cocktails like a a seasonal Strawberry Basil Smasher, Blackberry Rosemary Sparkler or Cucumber Yum Yum Cocktail?

Sip on those while noshing on mouth-watering appetizers like my famous organic dates with goat cheese wrapped in proscuitto (substitute bacon if you can’t find proscuitto), a creamy gorgonzola bruscetta, or organic grilled endive with blood orange vinaigrette. Or how about an heirloom tomato and red ruffle basil salad or an arugula radicchio salad?

Your burger loving guests will swoon over our easy blue cheese cabernet organic hamburger recipe (pictured above). Quick tip: a day ahead marinate the meat and make the patties so all you have to do is throw them on the hot grill the day of the party!Or try our organic chicken under a brick. This cooking technique creates a moist bird and cooks in less time than roasting a whole bird. And it’s a conversation starter! I guarantee when your guests see a brick resting on a chicken on the grill, your guests will ask something like, “how are you cooking that chicken?”

Got a ton of basil or herbs growing in that garden? Use your abundance to make make this truly summer dish, fresh pesto with basil and arugula over pasta…yumm. And feel free to substitute any herbs you wish! Get creative and create your own delicious recipe.

Summer wouldn’t be summer without artichokes! Pair your delicious eats with a grilled artichoke with olive oil, lemon and fresh herbs, tasty organic coleslaw with dried cranberries, easy grilled torpedo onions, or skewer up some organic veggies for a really easy side dish.

And of course, don’t forget the dessert! Pull out that dusty ice cream maker and make your own yummy ice cream for this organic watermelon bombe, a cool watermelon sorbet, or try this super creamy organic lemon verbena and lavender ice cream. Happy 4th of July!
