Small Gatherings – A Week of Menus – Friday – Dinner Party for Ten

This week’s seasonal dinner party menus feature continues with more delicious goodies from Small Gatherings Seasonal Menus for Cozy Dinnerswritten by Jessica Strand. Today’s menu is for a delicious Latin-inspired dinner for ten friends.

Menu:

– Tangy Peppery Watercress Soup

Pork Roast with Mustard and Herb Crust

Arugula Salad with Mango, Avocado, and Red Onion

Pistachio-Caradmom Cake with Lime Syrup

Menu Manager:

  1. The day before dinner:
    1. Make the soup. Let cool and refrigerate
  2. The morning of the dinner:
    1. Make the vinaigrette and refrigerate
    2. Make the cake and set aside at room temperature
  3. About three hours before serving:
    1. Bring the meat to room temperature
    2. Make the mustard and herb mixture for the pork
  4. About two hours before serving:
    1. Rub the mustard and herb mixture on the pork roast and put the roast in the oven
    2.  Prepare the ingredients for the salad, except for the avocados, and refrigerate
  5. About 40 minutes before serving:
    1. Remove the vinaigrette from fridge and bring it to room temperature
  6. Just before serving:
    1. Gently rewarm the soup and whip the cream for the garnish
    2. Prepare the avocados; assemble and dress the salad
