2 Natural Deep Conditioners to Fight Dry Hair

Salon conditioners can contain harmful chemicals like formaldehyde, sodium laureth sulphate, pthalates and parabens. But there’s no need to coat your head in chemicals when the do-it-yourself versions are so cheap and easy.
Deep Conditioning Treatment
This treatment works well for thick, coarse hair and normal hair.
Ingredients:
1 C mayonnaise
1 T honey
1 T olive oil
1/2 an avocado
1 raw egg (optional)
Method:
Mix all ingredients together and then spread thickly onto hair. Cover with a warm towel or a shower cap and let sit for 30 minutes. Rinse out in the shower, massaging generously to make sure to remove all the mixture. Wash with usual shower routine. Use monthly to keep hair free from dryness. For vegans, even just using olive oil and avocado can provide great benefits.
Coconut Oil Hair Treatment
Using coconut oil as a hair conditioner works well for all hair types, including fine hair and people with oily scalps.
Slather extra virgin coconut oil on ends of hair, being careful to avoid the roots if you have oily hair. You can either leave this in overnight or wrap with a warm towel or put under a shower cap for 30 minutes to an hour. Rinse out and wash hair as normal. You can repeat this treatment every two weeks for normal hair up to weekly for dry, damaged, or color-treated hair.
