Get Your Feet Ready for Summer with this Homemade Foot Scrub

It’s easy to forget to pamper our feet when they’re covered with wool socks and cute boots in the winter. But when summer hits and our warm accessories are no longer necessary, we’re faced with two rather dry realities – our bare feet. Creamy lotions and oils will help repair winter’s wear and tear on your feet. But using a luscious foot scrub before slathering creams on your skin will give the repair process an extra kick in the pants.
Getting your tootsies back into tip-top shape is no small task, but it’s a necessary one as you’re bound to sport bare feet or sandal-clad toes sooner rather than later.
I recently came across this DIY foot scrub the other day and I can’t wait to give it a shot.

Method
Combine salt, mint leaves and lavender buds into blender. If using fresh mint leaves: break up the leaves into smaller pieces. Pulse the blender until all the ingredients are ground up. Empty the mixture into a clean jar. Add olive, jojoba and lavender essential oils. Mix everything together until there’s an even consistency throughout.
For use
Slather a quarter-sized amount into each foot. Massage in the mixture, rinse it off and dry your feet. And a warning: this foot scrub will make your feet slippery. Take care! This DIY foot scrub can be kept in an air-tight container for about a week with fresh mint and a month with dried mint.
