Nourish Your Hands with this DIY Treatment to Soothe Dry Hands

I don’t know about you, but when spring starts to show its bright and sunny face, I like to add a little somethin’-somethin’ to my beauty regimen. One of those somethings that I’m going to give a shot this spring is this nifty DIY hand treatment.

I recently ran across this all-natural hand treatment while perusing one of my favorite blogs (ModCloth). The DIY hand cream contains exfoliating, moisturizing and nourishing properties that will help your hands get in tip-top shape, and ready for spring.

The simple, all-natural hand cream is made of:

  • Strawberries
  • Oatmeal
  • An olive oil mix

Hmm. After reading that list, I’m kind of hungry, too. More on that later…

Here’s the full ingredient list and method:

Ingredients

  • Plain oats
  • Olive oil
  • Strawberries

And add a little:

  • Coconut oil to strengthen nails .
  • Coarse brown sugar to exfoliate skin.

*Use organic ingredients when possible.

Method

Cook a few scoops of oatmeal with water (makes two to three cups). A soupy consistency is best. Mash three or four large berries with a fork. Stir berries and the oatmeal together. Add three spoonfuls of olive oil to the mixture and stir again. Place hands into the mixture. Coat all the rough spots. Soak your hands for three minutes. Massage you hands in the mixture for two minutes, rinse with warm water and pat dry.

So, I’m sure you have some strawberries and oats leftover. Here are a few recipes that are warm-weather friendly (and tasty!):
