Organic Chocolate & Honey Nourishing Facial Mask
Why not pamper yourself a little to celebrate Valentine’s Day this year? We have the perfect indulgence. A hydrating chocolate facial mask.
When’s the last time you actually treated your skin to a little beauty extravagance? We don’t mean the usual cleansing, moisturizing and maybe occasional exfoliation. We mean a true indulgence. With this facial mask you can enjoy the decadence of chocolate and the luxury of a little pampering for no other reason than you deserve it.
If your skin is feeling especially dry, tight or red, this mask will do moisturizing wonders. Filled with organic, wholesome ingredients, you can feel good about using this mask on your delicate facial skin. Besides being quite tasty, the chocolate in this facial mask will provide your skin with needed antioxidants to fight free radicals, UV damage and fine lines and wrinkles. The avocado contains skin-nourishing oils and other uber-moisturizing vitamins. And, the almonds and honey both offer skin-softening properties.
Get going on this mask. It’s simple to make and inexpensive.
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon organic cocoa powder
- 1/2 organic avocado
- 10-15 organic almonds
- 1/2 teaspoon honey
- 1/4 – 1/2 cup water
Directions
1. Combine all of the ingredients in a blender or food processor until smooth. The mask should have a thick consistency, but add enough water to give it a whip cream-like texture. Scoop the mixture into a small container.
2. Cleanse your face before applying the mask. Dab the mask on your face using your fingers in a smooth layer, avoiding your eyes and mouth. (If a little gets in your mouth, that’s okay. It’s yummy!) Relax, sip some herbal tea and let the mask sit for 15-20 minutes. This is a perfect time to soak in the tub! The mask will begin to harden, like most facial masks, but don’t worry. It’s normal.
3. Gently rinse off the mask after about 15-20 minutes and enjoy your soft, moisturized skin! The leftover facial mask mixture will keep in the refrigerator for several days.
This facial mask recipe makes enough for multiple applications. You could even host a homemade natural beauty night with some friends and share the chocolaty goodness.
