Demeyere offers premium stainless steel, but it does come with a higher price tag which can be a barrier.

Demeyere goes above and beyond the classic 3 and 5-ply designs with their 7-ply collection, the Demeyere Atlantis. It consists of seven metal alloys, and it conducts and holds heat better than any other stainless steel line I’ve tried. This does mean that the cookware is heavier and takes longer to heat up — but once they’re fully heated, they’re ah-mazing, and helper handles on the larger pans offset that weight. The line also features what they call a Triplinduc base, which is 30% more efficient on induction cooktops than competitors. 

They do have a classic 5-ply collection, The Industry 5, for those looking for more lightweight pans. Both collections heat evenly and retain heat like a dream, complete with flared rims and their patented Silvinox® finish. This keeps your cookware looking new and makes cleanup a breeze. Plus, the handles are welded for a completely smooth interior, which means you never have to deal with unhygienic food or oil build-up around rivets.

Everything comes with either a limited 30-year or lifetime warranty, which tells you something about how confident Demeyere is in their build quality. While this isn’t a get-out-of-jail-free card (the warranty won’t cover normal misuse issues like overheating or wear and tear), it goes a long way in helping you feel good about your investment.

My favorite pan in the line is the Atlantis 5-quart Sauté Pan with Helper Handle and Lid. With its high walls, wide base, and secure helper handle, this pan is ideal for feeding large groups — mashed potatoes, creamed spinach, and Thanksgiving cranberry sauce are all right at home in this piece.
