6 Natural Products with Invigorating Essential Oils to Brighten Your Summer
Many people swear that essential oils can help ease various ailments. And science has found some truth to the claims. For example, a study conducted by the Cochrane Dementia and Cognitive Improvement Group discovered that aromatherapy can help people feel relaxed, less stressed, and feel less pain.
I decided to give these oils a try, sampling a range of natural beauty products that contain essential oils supposed to help you feel invigorated.
Some I liked better than others, but found them all to offer some unique benefit, be it the scent itself or the medium.
Read on for my review and product info!
1. Colorado Aromatics, Botanical Salt Scrub with Rosemary and Peppermint
This product is perfect to use in the morning toward the end of a shower. It features peppermint essential oil, which has a cooling effect on skin and an invigorating effect on the mind. Cindy Jones, founder of Colorado Aromatics, adds that peppermint can sharpen focus and increase alertness. “We combine that [peppermint oil] with rosemary essential oil, which is stimulating and invigorating.”
The company uses herbs it grows on its farm, which is Certified Naturally Grown (CNG).
The salt scrub also contains shea butter and coconut oil. The scrub left my skin feeling soft. Also, it didn’t sting or burn when applied. Priced at $14.95.
2. MEVEI, Bergamot Essential Oil
MEVI’s Bergamot Essential Oil is the perfect, any-use oil. The company sells the oil as part of its Select Series. The oil smells floral and fruity, and is filled with citrus notes that promote a positive mood. The company adds that Bergamot oil is calming and often used to treat depression by providing energy.
The oil is best when diluted with a skin moisturizing oil, or bath water. It also can be used for aromatherapy. I used a drop or two of it in one of my oil diffusers. The scent was quite pleasant and bright. It was awakening, but not harsh. Priced at $39.99. The product also is free of synthetic fragrance, parabens, and petroleum. It’s also cruelty-free.
3. Clarity” target=”_blank” rel=”nofollow noopener”>Alivio, “Clarity” CBD-rich Whole Plant Hemp Extract
Clarity is an invigorating Essential Oil Blend with 80mg of CBD from Whole Plant Hemp Extract. It includes the following invigorating essential oils that can help cut through “brain fog”:
- Peppermint
- Rosemary
- Geranium
- Grapefruit
- Blood orange
- Lime
- Bergamot
- Lemon
- Eucalyptus
- Frankincense
According to the brand, the product also is infused with NRGZ™ (Subtle Energy) to “heighten and awaken your creativity, spontaneity, and overall focus.” It’s also said to improve mental clarity, concentration, and memory retention.
Since receiving this oil blend, it’s become part of my mid-day work routine. It helps give me a pleasant-smelling boost after lunch. Priced at $39. It contains organic and Ecocert approved ingredients.
4. Lather, Balancing Sea Kelp Body Oil With Evening Primrose
This incredibly hydrating body oil is filled with multiple oils. It combines evening primrose, rosehip and grapeseed oils, which promote tissue regeneration. Seaweed oil detoxifies, while bois de rose, geranium (known to be invigorating), and thyme promote well-being.
Each time I’ve used this oil my skin has remained soft through the day and the oil’s warm scent has stayed with me. Priced at $36. The product also is free of parabens, sulfates, mineral oil, and synthetic fragrance and colors.
5. Odacite Pure Elements, Grapeseed + Grapefruit Facial Serum
Odacite’s fast-absorbing serum is filled with Grapeseed oil—meant for clearing pores—and grapefruit oil—meant to encourage clear, smooth skin. In addition to the grapefruit oil’s clearing abilities, it’s also known to have aromatherapy properties that can uplift and energize.
This serum has become one of my favorites in my skin-soothing arsenal. The citrus scent is incredibly bright, and the formula absorbs quickly, and doesn’t leave my skin oily. I also appreciate that the serum works well with acne-prone skin, which I happen to have. Priced at $32. This product also is vegan, cruelty-free, and GMO-free.
6. Lotuswei, Inspired Action Aura Mist
Lotuswei’s Inspired Action mist can be used as a facial mist, or pillow or room spray. The uplifting spray works well as a mid-day pick-me-up and smells glorious. According to the company, the mist should help improve procrastination, lack of follow through, and more.
Although the spray contains invigorating oils, such as lime, lemon, allspice, and pepper, for their aromatherapy abilities, the spray’s real magic lies within its flower properties.
The company tells us the following about its product:
“While all of our topical formulas do contain essential oils for their aromatherapeutic benefit, what makes our product extra special is that the basis of all we do is actually flower essences,” says Tessa Martinez, a Lotuswei employee. “Different from aromatherapy, flower elixirs don’t have a scent and they work through the acupuncture meridians. It is a liquid infusion of a flower or plant’s ‘chi’ or life-force, whereas an essential oil is distilled or extracted from the plant into a highly aromatic oil.”
Priced at $40.
