Combine these Foods for Amazing Health

Have you ever considered what food combinations boost your health? I mean, really – what dressing will help your body absorb greens’ vitamins and minerals? What herbs are best paired with meat?
Well, wonder no more! The following food combinations boost nutrition and taste pretty darn great, too.
Morning munchies
Banana and yogurt
A banana’s inulin helps promote the growth of healthy bacteria found in yogurt.
Apple and cranberries
Combine these two foods to get an increased antioxidant punch!
Whole-grain bread and peanut butter
When you eat this taste bud tickling combo, you’ll load up on nine essential amino acids that help your body build bones, hormones and muscles.
Blueberries and walnuts
“Blueberries contain phytochemicals called anthocyanins that protect the brain from oxidative damage, and walnuts are a rich source of omega-3s that make you smarter. Research has shown that these compounds are even more powerful at sharpening memory and improving communication between brain cells when they work together” – Mother Earth News
Hearty staples
Fish or pine nuts, and broccoli
When combined, the mineral selenium in fish plus the sulforaphane found in broccoli can slow cancer cell growth 13 times more effectively than when eaten alone! Also: broccoli’s vitamin A helps keep pine nuts’ vitamin E potent.
Salad and oil
“Researchers at Purdue University fed 29 people salads that were topped with salad dressing made from three different types of fat: butter, a saturated fat; canola oil, a monounsaturated fat; or corn oil, a polyunsaturated fat. The amount of fat in the dressing was either three, eight, or 20 grams. In order to get more from eating fruits and vegetables, they need to be paired correctly with fat-based dressings. While a salad with fat-free dressing is lower in calories, the absence of fat causes the loss of some of the benefits of eating vegetables. The subjects’ blood levels of fat-soluble carotenoids were then tested, and the researchers found that dressings made from monounsaturated fat -rich dressings required the lowest amount of fat to get the most absorption of carotenoids” – The Atlantic
Evening treats
Red wine and almonds
When resveratrol in red wine combines with vitamin E in almonds, your blood and blood vessel linings benefit. The combination helps thin blood, which improves blood vessel health.
Raspberries and chocolate
Pair these two tasty treats together to improve how flavenoids thin blood, which helps improve heart health.
