5 Easy Halloween Costume Ideas for Foodies

No one can deny that Halloween is incredibly fun. There’s candy, crazy costumes and pumpkin carving. I mean, really — what other holiday is there where you get to carve a freaky face in a vegetable!?
Even though dressing up is fun, it’s not always easy to come up with affordable Halloween costume ideas. And let’s face it, sometimes you just don’t have the time to painstakingly put together a detailed DIY outfit. Never fear! We’ve rounded up a few quickie, food-themed Halloween costume ideas that you can get together in a few hours.
1. Organic Grapes
Blow up some green, or red balloons and attach them to a pair of green, or red sweatpants and a sweatshirt. To drive home the fact that you’re organic: Simply write “organic” across the cheap-o sweater’s chest!
2. Non-GMO Corn
Simply dress in yellow leggings and a yellow shirt, and get some dried hay to stick in the top of your shirt to represent your stalks. Then write GMO-free on the front of your sweater.
3. Deviled Egg
Wear all black and wear some cheap devil horns. Then cut a fried egg shape out of white poster board. Add a big yellow yolk in the middle, and use string to hang it around your neck.
4. Fruit Tree
Wear brown pants and a green long sleeve shirt. Pick up some faux fruits at a craft store or thrift shop. Glue a few to a hat or headband, then wrap the rest around your arms and torso haphazardly.
5. Organic Foodie
Dress like yourself, but tote around a basket of fresh produce and organic wine.
