The book, which is filled with images and inspiration, offers a striking and stunning take on this decorating style. Think about a mix of whitewashed ceilings, rugged stone surfaces, striking black features, soft furnishings, and fresh plants and flowers to get an idea of the images and inspiration. The stunning photography is from various locations across the U.S. and Scandinavia and depicts the ideal, rural life that’s adapted to modern living.
Modern Pastoral is broken up into four sections: forest, graphical, homestead, and waterside. Each section takes a closer look at either two or three homes in the modern pastoral style. The homes inspired by forest and mountains are filled with rich, deep greens and blues, combined with traditional patterns and features, such as log burners, wood paneling, and woven rugs. While the graphical-inspired locations feature clean lines, striking monochromes, and rugged stone surfaces. The homesteads are the warmest interiors and showcase muted colors, simple neutrals, milky whites, and lots of rustic wood touches.
