2 Amazeballs Ways to Scuff-Free Floors

Scuff marks, schnuff marks. Those annoying blemishes caused by shoe traffic, sliding chairs and moving furniture (especially anything on wheels) just make your floor look plain bad, and not in that shabby chic kind of way.

Even if your floor isn’t the “clean enough to eat off of” variety (No judging here! Where’s the time in the day to mop regularly?), who wants a big black streak across their floor? So how do you get rid of those irksome marks anyway?

A Google search on the topic will reveal some interesting suggestions. One scuff-removing source I stumbled across suggested, “If you are fresh out of baking soda, then check the cupboards for lighter fluid.” Of course. If out of baking soda, I always opt for lighter fluid! And who doesn’t keep their lighter fluid in the cupboard?

Unless you’d prefer to douse your home with lighter fluid, go the eco-route when cleaning those scuff marks off your hardwood, tile or laminate flooring. Here are some WAY better options.

Baking Soda Method

When it comes to ugly scuff marks on your floors, turn to that natural cleaning powerhouse, baking soda. A few tablespoons of this all-purpose powder combined with just enough water to form a paste, and you have a scrubbing concoction that will rid your floors of blemishes. Just add the mixture to a rag and use a little elbow grease to remove the scuffs.

Tennis Ball Method

Hijack that tennis ball from Rover, and rub it on those tough black marks to remove them. Yes, a tennis ball! Using a sports accessory to erase scuff marks may seem like a strange method, but it works.

Good ol’ water and a microfiber cloth may also do the trick on minor scuffs.
