Summer Has Arrived: DIY Homemade Fruit Popsicles
Cool down with a popsicle, but not one dripping with sugar water and artificial flavors. Instead, take a few minutes to pop out homemade fresh fruit popsicles that are devoid of fruit concentrates, artificial flavoring, and added sugar. This way, you can enjoy this cool treat any time of the day, from breakfast to dessert.
For this DIY homemade fruit popsicles recipe, I use pineapple juice as the base because it is particularly sweet. However, you can replace it with any fruit juice you desire, such as orange, apple, pomegranate, grape, kiwi, or mango juice, among many others. You can also replace the other add-ins with whatever combinations suits your taste buds. For now, try this recipe out as a foundation and then explore your personal preferences. Enjoy!
Recipe: Fruit Popsicles
Serves 6-10
Ingredients
Directions
Peel the kiwi, skin and core the mango, chop the them into chunks, and place them in a blender with the strawberries and pineapple juice. Blend until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly among the cups and place one popsicle stick in the center of each. The stick should be able to stand upright in the middle due to the thickness of the mixture. If not, blend the mixture with additional mango to thicken it up. Place the cups in the freezer for at least one hour. When frozen, let them sit for a few minutes at room temperature and they should pop out easily from cups. Enjoy!
