You’ll Want to Try This Unique Pink Sangria Drink: Rose Geranium FTW
Try this pink sangria drink when you’re ready to mix up something new. The delicate taste of rose-scented geranium sets off the punchy tang of fruit to perfection.

This unusual pink sangria drink will spice up your next party and will keep your guest guessing. I love to make it when the weather’s nice and we’re eating al fresco.
The other day in Yoga practice while resting in downward dog (is this really a resting position?) and doing my best to breathe through my fingers and toes (can one really do this?), my mind began to wander. I began thinking about organic foodie treats. You see I had just come off of a master cleanse, eight days of drinking nothing but organic lemonade with cayenne pepper. I was ready for a tasty dinner.
I built my menu around this gorgeous hued pink sangria drink, made from organic rosé wine. Don’t let the classic pink color of America’s sweet white zinfandels scare you. Rosés are very popular amongst the French and Europeans during the hot summer months. With their cool, crisp, dry, flavors they are back in vogue and hot on the American culinary scene.
Where do You Find Rose Geranium?
You can find organically grown rose-scented geraniums at a local nursery or farmers market. They must be pesticide and chemical free in order to be fit for consumption.
What to Serve with This Pretty Pink Sangria Drink

With my energy at a level 12 (out of 10) I felt like I was on top of the world. As a person who usually requires eight hours of sleep I was now going on six and operating at a highly focused pace and felt great. Because it was so freaking hot in my yoga class I decided to keep my first dinner after the cleanse simple and on the grill.
To start, I threw together my easy recipe for grilled peach salad with pepitas and beet greens. It’s shockingly easy to put together but it’s a total stunner. I love making this when company’s a comin’. While your grilling up peaches, you may as well make one of my favorite summer desserts: grilled peaches. Yes, baby, yes.
I also put together one of my warm-weather faves, a whole grilled chicken. The technique is simple and the resulting tasty tender meat with a crisp skin is ridiculous.
An organic dinner wouldn’t be complete without some tasty veggies, so I prepped up some organic veggies and put those on the grill along with my grilled heirloom truffle potatoes.
How to Make Sangria Rose Geranium Sangria
6-8 Servings
Ingredients:
1 1/2 cups of water
1/2 cup of sugar
24 medium organically grown rose scented geranium leaves (or your favorite herb like basil)
2 bottles of chilled dry rose wine
1 blood orange, thinly sliced
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 pint of fresh raspberries or blackberries, or a combination of the two, washed
1 pint of strawberries, washed, hulled and thinly sliced
6-8 cups of sparkling water or club soda if desired
Method:
Bring the water and sugar to a boil in a small saucepan. Stir in the rose geranium leaves, cover and remove from heat. Let steep for 20 minutes. Strain and press liquid out of leaves using a wooden spoon. Chill infused syrup in an ice water bath or refrigerator until cool.
In a large glass pitcher or medium size punch bowl, combine the chilled wine, syrup, orange and lemon slices, and fresh berries. Chill for a minimum or up to several hours to let the fresh fruit infuse their flavors. Before serving add the sparkling water or club soda if desired. Serve chilled.
