5 Ridiculously Delicious Vegan Cheeses Everyone Will Love (Yes, Everyone!)

4 Types of Vegan Cheese You Need To Try

Going vegan no longer means giving up cheese. There is an abundance of vegan cheese on the market. With such a wide selection to choose from, it can be tricky to select which brand and type.

These vegan cheeses cover the basic uses, such as in sandwiches and on snack platters. Of course, you can also experiment and find more offbeat uses for your vegan cheese. A favorite of mine is pairing vegan cheddar or provolone with sliced green apples for a sweet and savory snack.

Most of these vegan cheeses can be found at Whole Foods Market, Sprouts Farmers Market, and even at conventional supermarkets. (Pro tip: You can also go on each brand’s site and use their store locators to find products near you.)

5 Types of Vegan Cheese

1. Daiya Cheddar Style Slices

Craving grilled cheese? Grab a pack of Daiya’s Cheddar Style Slices which melt into gooey, cheesy perfection. This meltable vegan cheese is by far one of the best I’ve tasted and cooked with. It melts within minutes and has the perfect texture: gooey but not rubbery.

Try making a vegan breakfast sandwich with the vegan slices for a satisfying morning. First, make your favorite tofu scramble recipe and heat up some veggie bacon. Then, top each half of a toasted bagel with cheddar slices and broil for 30 seconds, or until melted. Fill the bagel with tofu scramble, veggie bacon, and sliced tomatoes. Enjoy!

2. Follow Your Heart Vegan Gourmet Shreds

Follow Your Heart’s Vegan Gourmet Shreds are perfect for pizzas and nachos. The shreds taste truly cheesy and don’t have a distinctly vegan flavor or smell to them. The cheddar flavor could definitely fool a non-vegan into thinking they’re actually eating dairy.

Try using your vegan shreds on a chili for a comforting meal. This chocolate chili recipe would be made even more delicious with a sprinkle of vegan cheese.

3. Treeline Soft Cheese

Treeline’s soft cheeses are ideal for making a vegan cheese platter. The spreadable cashew-based cheese tastes positively gourmet. Treeline offers 4 flavors of soft cheese including Scallion, Chipotle-Serrano, Green Peppercorn, and Herb-Garlic, my personal favorite.

Try arranging the soft cheese alongside crackers, grapes, olives, and artichoke hearts for the perfect platter.

4. Kite Hill Soft Ripened Cheese

For a vegan cheese reminiscent of brie, go for Kite Hill’s Soft Ripened Cheese. What makes this vegan cheese unique is it even has a rind like other artisanal cheese. Its creamy texture adds to its brie-like charm. Mild yet earthy flavors and notes of mushrooms make the flavor more complex.

Try the soft ripened cheese paired with a baguette, fruit preserves, and vegan wine for a French-inspired spread!

5. Miyoko’s Kitchen Loire Valley

Hailing from the hottest brand in the nondairy category right now, the Loire Valley from Miyoko’s Kitchen is a game-changer. Wrapped in a wine-cured fig leaf, it’s addictively aromatic and full of well-rounded flavor.

Try this alongside a crisp cracker, briney olives, and a tart fruit, or just eat it by the wedge–it’s that good!
