Meatless Monday Roundup: 4 Valentine’s Day Recipes

Valentine’s Day may not fall on a Monday this year, but that’s no reason not to make this meatless Monday romantic. Serve up some of our favorite romantic meatless recipes to kick the week off to a great start. You can even save some of your favorites for the 14th!

Start the day off with our very own scrambled eggs with black truffle oil and avocado. The earthy flavor of truffles bumps this breakfast staple up to the status of special occasion meal, while the avocado is a proven aphrodisiac. Monday morning is looking better already!

A delicious seasonal salad, topped with our almond blood orange vinaigrette is a great first course option. You can even pack it up for your sweetie’s lunch. Almonds are another proven aphrodisiac food, and the deep hue of the blood orange juice is perfect for a romantic dinner.

Maybe you find it a little cheesy, but there’s really nothing more romantic than that 1970’s dinner party staple of cheese fondue. You may be wary of the garlic in this romantic meal, but garlic is yet another food linked with aphrodisiac properties, and as long as you’re both eating it, there should be no problems. Just keep a box of mints handy…

If you’d rather go in another direction, though, how about these adorable heart-shaped butternut squash ravioli? Thanks to store-bought wonton wrappers, they’re easy to make, and they’re the perfect way to use up the last of this season’s bountiful winter squash. A simple butter and sage sauce is all you need, and this romantic dinner is ready.
