DIY: Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe

Winter is coming! Though our feet will soon be trapped in shoes and boots, now is a great time to do something about rough chapped skin and other foot ailments. This homemade foot scrub is just what you need to keep your feet happy all winter long.
The dry skin that naturally accompanies winter often hits feet first, bringing about flaky skin, bunions, corns and callouses. The more you let dry skin take its toll on your feet, the harder it will be to break out beautiful tootsies come springtime.
But spring and summer are far from the only reason you should be taking care of your feet. Massaging your feet — even when they don’t hurt — makes them stronger and healthier… and all the better to carry you all the places you want to go! So take some time to relax with our DIY homemade foot scrub; we promise, you’ll thank us later!
DIY Homemade Foot Scrub Recipe
1/2 cup olive oil
1/2 cup sugar
2-3 drops lavender essential oil
Combine ingredients in a resealable jar. Use the scrub on your feet before a bath or shower, taking special care to work it into your heels, the ball of your foot, and any other areas that may become dry. Allow to sit for at least 5 minutes before rinsing. You can also use this scrub on other dry patches of skin, like knees or elbows. Try to make the scrub just before using it so that the sugar doesn’t dissolve.
The olive oil lends natural moisture, but it can also be replaced with argan oil or our DIY baby oil.
To care for your feet even more, try our homemade salve, and be sure to treat yourself to a natural pedicure!
