DIY Plumping Lip Gloss Recipe
With full, luscious lips all the rage these days (thank you, Kylie Jenner), you may have already purchased a plumping lip gloss to give your pucker an extra boost. Instead of purchasing any old plumping lip gloss, think about making your own, using ingredients that are entirely natural and actually beneficial to your lips. Save yourself a trip to the local pharmacy and a few extra bucks with this lip gloss recipe, which is full of deliciously hydrating, nourishing and plumping ingredients.
Cinnamon is the key ingredient in this lip gloss recipe. It creates a warming sensation that effectively “plumps” the lips. Meanwhile, it adds a delicious flavor and scent that you won’t mind having on your lips at all. The vitamin E not only hydrates the lips but also adds shelf life to the product. The other ingredients help to balance the texture of the lip glass as well as boost its hydrating and power.
Before you start using the following lip gloss on the reg, be sure to test it out on a small section of your skin to see that you do not react negatively. Cinnamon oil can irritate sensitive skin, and the last place you want irritation to show is on your face, so be cautious!
DIY Plumping Lip Gloss
Makes about 1/2 cup lip gloss
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup coconut oil
- 1.5 tablespoons beeswax pellets
- 2-3 vitamin E capsules
- 3/4 tablespoons raw honey
- 15 cinnamon essential oil drops
Directions
In a double boiler over low heat, add the coconut oil and beeswax. Stir until both have melted. Remove from heat and add the vitamin E by breaking the capsules and squeezing out the inside liquid. Next add the honey and cinnamon oil. Mix thoroughly and then transfer to lip balm containers. The mixture will harden after about 5 minutes. Apply to your lips whenever you want that extra fullness.
