Want younger looking skin naturally? Check out our list of natural products that can turn back the clock and help you restore your skin without Botox or fillers.
Turning 40 was easy. It flew by and there was lots of wine. My 41st birthday however was a different story. For the first time, I felt I was aging. I noticed new wrinkles, deep creases and dull skin. Life in my 40s had proven to be anything but dull and I wanted my skin to look as good as I felt.
I’ll be honest. My first thought was to actually restore my skin with Botox and fillers. After all, I have such fair skin. But then a second thought floated to the surface. Could I turn back the clock? Could I restore my skin naturally? Just like muscle tone comes back when I hit the gym, could my skin bounce back with a better skin care routine?
In my quest to find a new and manageable skin care routine for my 40s, I laid down a few ground rules: Products couldn’t break the bank. They should be as pure and organic as possible. No plastics microbeads. No parabens. No crap ingredients.
For three months, I tried over twenty skin care products and discovered that not all are created equal. Some worked miracles. Others just smelled nice. In the end, I did restore my skin. Bright and tight, the results surprised even me. I knew I had a winning new skin care routine when multiple friends - even men - asked me what I was doing differently because “I didn’t look so wrinkly anymore.”
Deep creases had diminished drastically. And fine lines had disappeared. Even better news, most of the skin care products that worked miracles were independently owned, organic and freshly made in small batches.
So, here’s how I restored my skin:
I alternated between an acidic exfoliating and nourishing cleanser. Then I applied generous amounts of a mega moisturizer and waited for it to soak in. Next, I applied sunscreen.

Twice a Week
I applied a mask with acids to tighten and brighten my skin. Afterwards, I always noticed immediate results. Tighter pores, great texture, and my skin glowed.
Before bed, I used a Clarisonic Aria with a nourishing cleanser. Then I put on Three Girls Holistic Nightly Repair Serum or a glycolic cream and a mega moisturizer. I applied almost twice the usual amount as it soaked in like quicksand.
To restore my skin naturally, I needed to stock my cabinet with 5 types of natural and organic hero products.

My skin drank up each of these natural and organic mega moisturizers. I truly saw fine lines disappear and the texture of my skin filled in and plumped up with:

When I applied these eye creams at night, I noticed that my laugh lines (almost) went bye bye the next morning.
Sibu Beauty Age Defying Eye Cream
Celtic Complexion Eye Elixir Hydrating Serum
Cinq Mondes 7 Chinese Plants Eye Contour Ointment
I would get excited for my twice a week mask treatments as I saw dramatic and instant results with each of these great products. My skin seemed to “snap” back into shape. It appeared lifted, tight, bright, and my pores shrank.
Black Rock Mud Mudpot Natural Mud Mask
Sibu Beauty Sea Buckthorn Purifying Mask
Adonia Organics Athena 7min Lift
Board and Batten Herbal Remedy Mask
This is an everyday affair. I found that Celtic Complexion Tinted Moisturizer worked for me. A little goes a long way and needs to be blended. It’s tinted so I didn’t need to wear make-up.
Just a few more things to know:
Of course, having the right natural and organic skin care products are key to restoring your skin. Here are a few tips to make them even more effective.
Keep up. When I fell off the wagon, lines and creases started to come back. When I kept up with my new daily and weekly skin care routine, they faded away.
Order counts. Different products have different absorbency factors. For example, you want to apply serums first and then a moisturizer. Serums, which have smaller molecules, won’t absorb into your skin as much if placed over a heavy moisturizer.
Rotate products for potency. I’m not a scientist but I will say this: I noticed that products worked better on my skin when I rotated them.
Acid is your friend. Glycolic acid is the most popular and works wonders for tightening and brightening mature skin.
Get samples. While trying different products, my skin had some mild reactions. When possible, "try before you buy" and inquire about a product's return policy.
