3 DIY Squeeze Pouch Organic Toddler & Baby Food Recipes

Those pricey little baby food pouches (ranging from $1-$3 per pouch) are great when you’re on-the-go with a toddler. No, they’re not a good choice for every meal. Some of the cons include the high price compared to homemade or jarred baby food, and the fact that your kids aren’t learning to use utensils or recognizing real food. But for long car trips, where packing your own food is best but dealing with cleanup is impractical, those pouches can be tiny little lifesavers.
There are a lot of good organic brands that come preservative-free. But, of course, making the food yourself from fresh, organic ingredients means you know exactly what your kids are eating. And, if you use reusable pouches, you eliminate the waste from the disposable ones. For the pouches, you can make your own from Foodsaver bags, like these Homemade Yogurt Tubes, or you can buy reusable pouches like the Beaba Babypote, the Sili Squeeze or the Go Fresh Baby Reusable Pouches. Making your own on-the-go baby food is not only a greener choice, but also a more frugal choice. Try these three DIY toddler squeeze pouch recipes to get started.
My favorite method for cooking large batches of baby food is in the slow cooker. But you can use any method you like as long as the fruits and vegetables can be mashed or processed smooth after cooking.
