Verdant Wonderland: Dubai’s Miracle Garden

Have you ever wished you could walk through the Hedge Maze described in Alice of Wonderland? Well, the team behind the Miracle Garden in Dubai, United Arab Emirates has brought that very experience to life.

A mirage of colorful flora, brilliant botanical showcases and playful displays of shapes and optical illusions, this garden artfully demonstrates how plants can sculpt a Fantasia-like landscape. Wave-patterned flowerbeds, cars filled with plants, multi-colored pyramids and domes, heart and star shaped plantings, candy striped walkways and fountains bring the fairytale to life in the most beautiful and awe-inspiring way.

Founded in 2001, the Miracle Garden in Dubai was created by a landscaping company called Akar that emphasizes the use of eco-friendly systems and materials. This allows the company to create sustainable landscaping designs for several types of environments from city parks to private gardens. Akar is the only company in the world that has achieved recognition in the Guinness World Records for landscaping, an impressive feat for the botanical field.

The 72,000 square meter garden contains more than 45 million flowers that are irrigated through a drip water system with sustainably harvested rainwater. Designed specifically as a tourist attraction, the landscaping company’s plan is to change the garden’s plantings for each season so that visitors will always have a new visual experience. We hope you enjoy this virtual but vibrant walk through the impressive and entertaining gardens!
