Late morning and sunny afternoon gatherings with friends are perfect to enjoy a little down time sipping on these eight refreshing day drinking cocktails, all made with sustainable booze.

1. Simple Lemonade with Purus Organic Vodka

Simple Lemonade

Ingredients 

2 cups of Purus Organic Vodka
6 tablespoons honey
3/4 cup fresh lemon juice
1/2 cup of muddled ginger
1 cup mint leaves
8 lemon slices

Directions 

Stir honey and 6 tablespoons of hot water in a large pitcher until honey is dissolved. Stir in Purus vodka, lemon juice, and muddled ginger. Add about 2 cups of ice, depending on the size of your pitcher and one cup of mint leaves. Cover and refrigerate until chilled. Pour into glasses filled with ice. Garnish with lemon slices and serve. Serves 8.

Made with organic wine, this fine French cognac’s fruit and floral aromas please the palate and add sophistication to every sip.

Ingredients 

1.5 oz Cognac Park Fin Bois Organic
.5 oz cherry eau de vie
. 5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz orange juice
. 5 oz coconut mix*
.75 oz passion fruit syrup**
1 dash Angostura Bitters

Directions 

Shake ingredients with 1 oz. of crushed ice and strain into a large decorative glass. Fill glass with crushed ice and garnish with freshly grated nutmeg and an orchid.

*Coconut mix is made by mixing well equal parts of coconut milk and cream of coconut.
Bottle and store in the refrigerator.

**Passion fruit syrup is made by mixing equal parts passion fruit juice and white cane sugar, measured separately. Bottle and store in the refrigerator.

3. Mrs. Fitzgerald with Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin

Hailing from Australia, this award-winning gin is made with native botanicals such as lemon myrtle, turmeric, and juniper berries. Four Pillars uses the leftover fruit from production to create their fabulous bittersweet-orange marmalade.

50ml Four Pillars Rare Dry Gin
20ml sugar syrup
2 whole strawberries, muddled
5ml absinthe
2 dashes orange bitters

Directions 

Combine all ingredients in a shaker with ice. Shake and strain into a chilled coupette glass. Garnish with a strawberry.

Ingredients 

2 ounces KOVAL dry gin
¾ ounce KOVAL Rose Hip Liqueur
2 ounces Champagne
Raspberry and Rosemary (for serving)

Directions 

Combine gin, simple syrup in a cocktail shaker with Raspberry. Fill shaker with ice, cover, and shake vigorously until outside of shaker is very cold, about 20 seconds. Strain cocktail through a Hawthorne strainer or a slotted spoon into a large flute. Top with Champagne; garnish with raspberry and rosemary.

5. Arroyo Cup with VIDA de San Luis Del Rio Organic Mezcal

Arroyo Cup

Ingredients 

1.5 oz Vida Mezcal
.5 oz St. George Green Chile Vodka
2 Cucumber wheels
6 Lime Wedges (¾ of a Lime)
.75 oz Simple Syrup

Directions

Muddle all ingredients in a cocktail shaker, top with ice, shake, and pour contents into an Old Fashioned Glass. Garnish with a pinch of salt.

6. Watermelon Addie with Avua Cachaca

Black Restaurant Group Cocktail Director George Sault created the Watermelon Addie that pairs local watermelon with organic Avua Cachaca, a Brazilian rum distilled fresh from sugarcane juice.

Ingredients

1.5 oz Avua Cachaca
.5 oz Luxardo Maraschino
.75 oz Watermelon Syrup
.75 oz Lemon Juice
2 Dash Peychaud Bitters

Directions 

Build the cocktail in the glass. Add all ingredients into fancy double old fashioned glass, top with crushed ice and use the spoon to mix ingredients. Snowcone more crushed ice on top of cocktail and garnish with a watermelon ribbon. Two small straws to finish.

7. Tres Agaves Margarita with Tres Agaves Blanco Tequilla

Ingredients 

1 part Tres Agaves Blanco Tequila
2 parts Tres Agaves Margarita Mix
Lime wheel for garnish

Directions 

Combine margarita mix and tequila in a shaker with ice and shake vigorously and strain over ice; garnish with a lime wheel.
