Crank Up the Festive Tunes & Make This Cranberry & Apple Crisp Recipe w/ Oats Now
Cranberry and apple crisp recipe with oats is your answer for “What’s for dessert?” Heck, with the addition of orange zest, spices, and oats, you could eat this for breakfast.

The holidays are pure happiness for me. Everything from the weather and cozy sweaters and mugs of warmth to the start of citrus season — pure bliss! This super easy crisp (or crumble, as some call it) is so fragrant, with bright punch of citrus and cozy warming spices, makes for the perfect take-along dessert.

Add some vanilla or creme fraiche on top and ohhhh my! It comes together with a few simple chops of the knife, a quick saute the the apples, cranberries, orange and spices before adding the oat and flour topping for baking.
You might even want to skip the topping and just finish cooking the apples to top some homemade ice cream. Seriously yum! You’ll thank me later. Feel free to add more spices. I’m a huge fan of cinnamon and always err on the side of too much.
Autumn and winter are full of my favorite flavors — spices, apples, and cranberries. For the spices, be sure to use them as fresh as possible for the most potent flavor.
This apple and cranberry dessert could hold its own sitting next to a homemade pumpkin pie. If you’re making this for the holidays (good choice) round out your table with a homemade cranberry sauce with persimmons and our way better than the traditional fresh green bean casserole, Brussels sprouts (here are four ways to make them) and, of course, a brined turkey.

Kitchen Tools I Used to Make This Cranberry and Apple Dessert

Made In Enameled Cast Iron Skillet
This is a one-pan wonder when you make it in a cast iron skillet that can go right into the oven (and this one’s oven-safe up to 580F). When you make it in this pan, it goes even further in the multi-tasker department. The enameled finish also means it looks stunning right on the table for serving.
