Blueberries are common in breakfast and desserts, but what about throwing them into lunch or dinner items? This little blue berry is full of antioxidants and vitamins, and it makes a colorful and tasty addition to your summer meals. Check out some of our very favorite blueberry recipes–from the traditional to the new and unique. Whichever you choose, be sure to opt for local, organic berries whenever possible; Northeasterners are lucky to have wild Maine blueberries on hand, which will work perfectly with these delicious recipes.

Blueberries marry well with salty feta cheese in this Blueberry and Feta Salad. The recipe allows you to use any lettuce, but we like iron-rich baby spinach as a tender foil for the blueberries, feta and tangy dressing.

Blueberry crisp is a delicious traditional summer dessert, and no one does it better than Martha Stewart. Rolled oats or chopped nuts (we like both for fiber and protein!) are combined with sweet blueberries for this simple treat, rendered company worthy with a scoop of gourmet or homemade vanilla ice cream.
